(KJV.) ST. LUKE 24:5-7
(5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
(6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
(7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
WHY SEEK YE THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD!
(6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Brethren, the two angels, told the women that, (i) Jesus is not in the tomb, but risen: and reminded them of what Jesus himself told his disciples over and over again, regarding what will happen to him in Jerusalem, and how everything will turn out, but they did not pay much attention to his words; (i) in John 2:19, Jesus answered the Jews and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.", but he spoke about his body and not the actual temple of our Father; (iii) in Luke 9:22, Jesus said to his disciples, "Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day." (iv) in Matthew 20:19, it is written, "And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again. Hallelujah! The scriptures were fulfilled; the two angels said unto the women; "He is not in the tomb, but He is risen!" as believers, let us have faith that all promises of our Father, in our lives are coming to pass from today; our Father declared and decreed, and so shall it be forevermore.
(7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. Brethren, Jesus was delivered into the hands of very bad and wicked people, though they nailed his hands and feet to the cross; poke his sides with the spear to make sure that he was actually dead before taking him down the cross; Jesus still prayed for them before death; it is written, "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not, what they do." And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." (Luke 23:34); therefore, let us pray for very bad and wicked people who have done wrong things against our souls, and believe that our Father knows about them and will take control of our reproaches, turn them into testimonies, praises and thanksgiving by his goodness and mercies that endures forever; though Jesus died in the hands of very bad and wicked people, all their sins were forgiven by his shed blood on the cross; for they were not aware entirely of what they were doing by fulfilling the scriptures; for they meant it for evil, but our Father meant it for good, to save souls from all iniquities, grant them salvation, grace and eternity; for it is written, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." (Genesis 50:20); for this cause Jesus Christ was born, and came into the world, that he could bear witness to the truth, and everyone that is of the truth, may hear his voice and receive salvation and life everlasting.
CONCLUSION:
Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior shed his blood to set humanity free from iniquities and grant salvation, grace and eternity to those who believe in him; it is done on the cross! today, if we have not received Jesus yet into our hearts as Lord and Savior, it is not too late to do so, he is waiting patiently for us to come unto him, he took away our worries, fears, sorrows and pains, on the cross, so we do not have to bear them on our shoulders any longer, but believe in him forever and evermore. Amen and Amen!
