DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  MATTHEW 16:17-19

(17)  And Jesus answered and said unto him,  Blessed art thou Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
(18)  And I say also unto thee,  That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
(19)  And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on  earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

WHAT ARE THEY SAYING ABOUT ME?

Brethren, in verse sixteen of Matthew chapter sixteen, Jesus was curious of what people thought of his identity; therefore, he asked his disciples, "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?;  Simon Peter answered, said unto him, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.";  in this fallen world, at times, believers are identified by names of reproaches, names such fanatics, zealots, crazy etc.; however it really does not matter what the world say about believers, if Christ be for us, who can be against us?

Case in point,  Jesus asked his disciples a question regarding his identity, but none of his disciples knew exactly what to say, except Simon Peter was bold enough and answered with wisdom from above; for the Holy Spirit himself, gave Peter the answer by spiritual revelation, that Jesus was the Son of the living God;  praise be to our Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!;  there is no doubt about Jesus's identity, his ministry identified him; he introduced the kingdom of heaven unto earth, ministered words of our Father unto humanity, performed miracles, signs and wonders, at the end of his ministry, he suffered to take away the iniquities of this world, died on the cross of Calvary, went into pits of Hades, ministered the gospel to the spirits in bondage of the enemy and set them free, he rose again from the death on the third day, ascended into heavenly places, sitting on the right hand of our Father, as an advocate for all those who trust and believe in him; therefore, as believers, we identify ourselves by the gifts and talents given in Jesus Christ, some are Apostles, some Prophets, some Evangelists, some Pastors and Teachers; all these gifts are for the perfecting of the saints, and the work of the ministry, and for edifying of the body of Christ; therefore, let us know who we are in Christ, use our gifts and talents for his glorification forevermore;  and in doing his will, when we face reproaches of men, let us not lose hope but rather rejoice and be happy, for we are in his will and great is our rewards in heaven; for Jesus said, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." (Matthew. 5:11-12).

Points to ponder,  when Simon Peter answered the question, Jesus became surprised, because he never told his disciples, who he really was yet; therefore, he commented right away that his secret was revealed to Simon Peter by the Spirit of our Father, and if Peter has been given the power to hear the voice of our Father directly from heaven, then Peter is also a chosen vessel of our Father for his glorification, remember when Jesus was with them, the Holy Spirit, has not been given yet;  therefore, Jesus saw that the gift was already planted in the innermost spirit of Simon Peter and he said unto him, "That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."(Matthew 16:18);  whaoo! what a commission; Simon Peter received his commission right away from Jesus Christ; this is an example, that the Holy Spirit reveals secrets of our Father unto humanity through his believers; therefore, when the Holy Spirit reveals secrets from our Father through his holy men and women of faith; let us honor his words, not dispute facts, but leave all disagreements to Jesus Christ; for before Jesus ascended into heaven, he promised his disciples that the comforter will come and teach them all things.(John 14:26); therefore, in this day and age, we are to expect newer revelations from our Father to lighten our ways in this world of darkness;  let us not condemn newer revelations of Jesus Christ but rather embrace them, ponder on what was revealed, to know for sure, what our Father is saying and adhere to his voice; for our Father is still revealing secrets by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit; for it is written, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams: on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy;" (Acts 2:17-18);  therefore, let us cease not to share revelations, gifts and talents to the glorification of our Father, for this course they were given those gifts and talents to lighten ways of humanity from darkness into marvelous lights of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Brethren, Simon Peter was given the keys of the kingdom of heaven by Jesus Christ he bounded things on earth and they were bounded in heaven; and all things loosen by him on earth was also loosen in heavenly places forevermore; therefore, Simon Peter was made a stone, pillar upon which Christianity was build upon until this day; the Prophecy of Jesus Christ was fulfilled; truly, no gates of hell had prevailed against Christianity and will not prevail against it forevermore: today, let us ask ourselves, what are we in the body of Jesus Christ?

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved,  let us ask ourselves this question; what newer revelations given to believers by the Holy Spirit, for glorification of our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, but we have not shared because of opinion of skeptics;  if the prophets and apostles of old, did not write down their prophesies, revelations given by Spirits of our Father, there will be no scriptures today, to lighten our ways in this fallen world; therefore, let us be encouraged to share revelations to the glorification of our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  for the Holy Spirit still reveals secrets of our Father to enlighten our ways in his righteousness forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Colossians 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things  he might have the preeminence.
