DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  JAMES 5:13-16

(13)  Is any among you afflicted?  let him pray.  Is any merry?  let him sing psalms.
(14)  Is any sick among you?  let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
(15)  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

NO WAVERING!

Brethren, we ought not to worry about things of this world; but rather supplicate and pray about all things, whether good or bad circumstances;  let us not waver in faith, but rather pray, give thanks to our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  for it is written in the book of 1 Timothy 2:1-2; "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that, we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."; therefore, let us pray, give thanks to our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, for he is good and his mercies endures forever.

Brethren, let us study the above text in segments;  (i)  Is any among you afflicted?  let him pray.  at times, we receive afflictions from the enemy, to bring harm upon our souls, frustrate and derail our faith in the righteousness of our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  let us be aware that the enemy does evil works in spirit to afflict souls, break down faith grounds, spiritual powers and strengths; therefore, let us always pray and be in spirit;  the above text is saying that whenever we receive enemy afflictions, instead of rushing to emergency rooms for medical assistance, let us rather pray with faith, rebuke the affliction, declare victories and plead the blood of Jesus upon our souls, give thanks to the Father for victories granted, that we survive the attacks;  there is nothing wrong with seeking medical assistance if we desires to do so; however, spiritual attacks are cured with prayers; at times, there are lots of deaths from spiritual attacks, categorized as natural deaths but are deadly afflictions from the enemy; therefore, if we receive enemy afflictions through dreams or visions, but are able to wake up alive; let us pray, give thanks to our Father for his grace through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; for it is written, "Offer unto God, thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most high: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." (Psalm 50:14-15);  therefore, let us worship, give thanks unto our Father at all times; so when we call upon him in times of troubles, he may speedily answer our prayers;   (ii)  Is any merry?  Let him sing psalms. at times, when we receive favors and blessings from our Father; we tend to cover up, pretend like nothing good happened, afraid to let others know of our blessings to rejoice with us; however, it is stated clearly in today's text that when we are glad, to sing songs of praises from the book of psalms, glorify our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; we may also testify about his miracles, signs and wonders show gratitude and trust in him forevermore.

Brethren, in verse 14 of the text Apostle James asked;  (iii)  Is any sick among you?  let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: sicknesses are afflictions from the enemy;  therefore, when we are sick, and at our lowest states of energies, cannot pray for ourselves, let us call on the elders or other believers of faith for prayers; and believe that we are healed; for it is written, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."(1 Peter 2:24); therefore, healing was granted on the cross, at the time of sufferings, death of Jesus Christ by his wounded sides;  we just have to receive it, decree it, believe it;  it shall be so, by his Holy Name!;  we may also receive anointing with holy oil from our elders, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; a sign that we are healed, sealed by the power of the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption;  (iv)  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.;  brethren, it is faith that activates all things of our Father, without faith is is impossible to please him;  we can pray all our heart desires unto him but without faith, our prayers are like sounding brass in his ears;  therefore, to manifest instant healing, let us pray with greater faiths that we are already healed, and healing will manifest, and if we receive enemy afflictions because we disobey or err from our Father, he will have mercy on our souls, receive us unto himself, by the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through his blood shed on the cross of Calvary forever; though, we may seek medical remedies for sicknesses, as believers, let us not rule Jesus Christ out of the equation, he heals and saves those who trusts and believes in him.

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved, today we are encouraged by Apostle James to supplicate, pray about everything and regardless of our situations; whether good or bad; to have faith in our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; rejoice and leave all burdens unto Jesus Christ; for such reasons he died on the cross of Calvary and grant salvation, free grace and life everlasting.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
