DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  JAMES 1:21-25

(21)  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the en-grafted word, which is able to save your souls.
(22)  But be ye doers of he word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
(23)  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.
(24)  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
(25)  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

THE HEARER AND THE DOER

Brethren, as believers, let us always wear armors of salvation with faithfulness in the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with morally good behaviors not with offensive, disgusting or immoral behaviors or always looking to attain more of things that are not needed and behaving ourselves badly before men; but what we really need in this world full of iniquities are to deeply dig into the scriptures to learn and find wisdom to walk in godliness which will lead us into salvation and life everlasting.

Case in point, Apostle James is saying to us today, (i)  But be ye doers of he word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves;  when we read the word daily, in other to understand to its fullest, let us read it with positive attitudes of finding out what the Holy Spirit is trying to teach us; for we read the word to learn and be doers of his words, not just listeners/readers but to be able to use his words to encourage others in the walk of faith in his righteousness;  (ii)    For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass;  if we read or heard his words but do nothing about what we heard or have known, we are just like believers who see their shadows when the sun is going down but cannot embrace them; consequently, let us pay more attention to revelations given to us by the Holy Spirit through reading/hearing of his words, for his words are lights upon our path unto eternity.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Points to ponder,  (a)  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was;  if we hear or read his word but without praying for the Holy Spirit' guidance teachings and revelations, we may be wasting our efforts; for when we walk away, we may forget into details what we have read or may not fully understand what important lessons we need to learn from reading/hearing his words;  (b)    But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed;  if we pay much attentions into accurate detailed information about who we are and our rights to freedom through Jesus Christ's sufferings, death and resurrection; believe in him and continue to utilize what we have learned to do his will; we are not only good hearers but are also servants of his good works and steward ships, and have great rewards worthy of eternal glory,

Fruits of thoughts,  when we get ready to read the scriptures, let us not just read it as we will read a novel with eagerness to continue where we had left off reading; for, the scriptures are spiritual live utterances from the Father ministered through men by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit; therefore, when we read it with the thoughts and intentions of knowing more about what we read, the Holy Spirit will enlighten our ways into the truth of his words; therefore, let us cultivate habits of praying first for the Holy Spirit guidance and revelation of hidden secrets of his words; after our communion with him and his words, it is godly on our part to thank him for understanding of his words.

CONCLUSION:

Brethren,  we may or may not know how powerful his words are; the scripture is not an ordinary story telling book, again, it is sacred dictates of the Holy Spirit recorded by faithful servants of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, from generations to generations it is the same book; therefore, when we read, the scriptures, we will find his will and know him more as Father of all creation: it also a book that heals all afflictions and solves all issues of life; regardless of what negative or positive situations we find ourselves in today; there are answers to all issues of life in this book of wonders; let us read his words everyday to guide us with wisdom and be doers of his words not just hearers alone; also, let us believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, for his saving grace to continue to manifest in our lives forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Psalm 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
