DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  ACTS 20:22-25

(22)  And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
(23)  Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
(24)  But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God
(25)  And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

FAITH IN ACTION

Brethren, as believers, at times we have to exercise our faith beyond measures; what do we do, when the Holy Spirit warns us about dangers of persecutions and afflictions awaiting us if we have to go on an errand for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; but are pretty determined to do his will regardless of what our predicaments will be?  are we strengthened in faith to points where we will be willing to represent Jesus Christ and not think about ourselves or please humanity and forsake the works of the LORD of hosts?

Case in point, Apostle Paul during his ministry was pretty determined to go to Ephesus, and would not spend time in Asia because he wanted to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost; however, in every city that he went to, the Holy Spirit ministered to him that bonds and afflictions awaited for him in Jerusalem; but because of his calling as a minister of the gospel of the grace of God, though he was warned several times of dangers ahead;  (i)  none of those warning moved him, as believers, are our faiths strengthened to a point that though we face persecutions, we will still risk our lives for the sake of  the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? (ii)  Paul did not count his life dearly unto himself but unto the works of the Lord, as believers, let us pray for increase of faiths in the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that we may be able to yield our souls even unto death to the will of one who called us from darkness into his marvelous light;  (iii)  Paul wanted to finish his assignment and ministry with joy, as believers, let us take our callings into ministry more important and cheerfully complete them regardless of obstacles or predicaments to receive crown of glories and life everlastings;  (iv)  Apostle Paul's mission was to testify the gospel of the grace of God, as believers, let us take time to seek the Lord to find out exactly what our callings are in the body of Christ and joyfully serve and shine in those areas until end of our days on planet earth.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Points to ponder, all believers, are called to serve the Lord in the body of Christ; however, not all believers are to quit their jobs to submit to the will of Jesus Christ, we can still work for a living and serve him wherever we are in the secular world; for we are all gifted to function collectively as one body in the entire planet earth; therefore, let us not feel worried because we are working and not fully dedicated to serve him; if our callings are in the mission fields and we need to submit to his will in our lives, he will lead us into his will regardless of what mountains we are to overcome, he will get us there by his saving grace.

Fruits of thoughts, Apostle Paul, by the leadership of the Holy Spirit knew what will happen to him when he goes to Jerusalem; however, he feared the Lord, and wanted to do the right thing before him, therefore, he prayed for the congregation and bade them farewell and left for Jerusalem;  (a) today, if we hear that we are about to be persecuted or tormented for righteousness sake and what will happen to us if we make a move in the will of the Lord; let us ask ourselves, can we be faithful to the Lord and fear not man?  (b)  again, let us ask ourselves, who among believers today is willing to suffer, die and be crucified on the Cross for sins he did not commit?  only Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior can pay the price for sins he did not commit to redeem all humanity by his sufferings, death and resurrection; today, we receive salvation, grace and life everlasting.

CONCLUSION

Brethren, today, Apostle Paul had demonstrated his braveness as a believer in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, though he did not know what will happen to him at Jerusalem, he was faithful to his calling and through his perseverance and forbearance in the will of the Lord; today we have books of wisdom, guidance and inspirations from the Holy Spirit in the New Testament to lead us righteously through this perverse generation; if he did not yield himself completely to the will of the Father, he might not have received the wisdom unto humanity; as believers, let us follow after the will of the Father through the dictates of the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit and make ourselves available as vessels for glorification of the LORD of hosts through the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Matthew 6:25  Therefore  I say unto you,  Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink;  nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.  Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
