DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  GENESIS 22:6-8

(6)  And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering,  and laid it upon Isaac his son;  and he took the fire in his hand,  and a knife;  and they went both of them together.
(7)  And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said,  My father:  and he said,  Here am I, my son.  And he said,  Behold the fire and the wood:  but where is the lamb for a burnt-offering?
(8)  And Abraham said,  My son,  God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt-offering:  so they went both of them together.

WHAT WOULD YOU AND I DO?

Brethren, as it was in beginning, it is now, and ever shall it be, world without end:  Amen!  In this chapter, Abraham received instruction from our Father to take Isaac his beloved son to the land of Moriah, upon one of the mountains tops and offer him there as a burnt-offering; my question is, if we receive such instructions from our Father in this twenty-first century, what would you and I do?

First of all, our Father had given Abraham his words, that he will confirm his promise with Isaac for an everlasting promise, and with his seed after him: (Genesis 17:19); that was generations before Jesus Christ was born; however, we can see similarities in the works of our Father;: for,  same way our Father gave his only begotten Son, as a sacrificial lamb to take away sins of the whole world, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life: (John 3:16);  despite the promise, Abraham obeyed his words, trusted in him, to fulfill his promises anyhow, and it was counted to him as righteousness.

Secondly, when Abraham was closer to the place to offer Isaac for burnt offering; he took off the wood of the burnt-offering from his servant shoulders, laid it upon Isaac his son; took the fire in his hand, a knife; and they went both together with faith in our Father;:  same way, after the ministry of Jesus Christ,  he was arrested, persecuted and sentenced to be crucified on the cross; before they led him to crucify him on the cross, they platted a crown of thorns, put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand, bowed before him, mocked and continued to whipped him until they crucified him: he bared the iniquities of humanity on the cross on his way to Golgotha;  as believers, whatever our crosses maybe, let us know that Jesus had faith that whatever was going with him during his trails, sufferings and death, was temporary, that after his death, he will rise again with victory and grant humanity freedom from bondage of iniquities forever; despite what Jesus went through, our Father did not leave him alone but was with him; therefore, let us know, that we are not alone in this world, but Jesus Christ is with us, and no matter what comes against our souls, if we have Jesus on our sides; we are more than conquerors.

Thirdly, on the way to Moriah, Isaac asked his father Abraham; "My Father, we have the fire wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt-offering?";   good question!;  though Jesus was predestined to save the world from bondage of iniquities by his sufferings, shed blood, crucifixion and resurrection; when the appointed time came for him to fulfill the promise;  he felt the need to asked our Father for mercy to overcome his predicament;  Jesus prayed fervently in the garden of Gethsemane; saying, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."; (Matthew 26:39);:  at times, we go through storms of life, whereby we wonder if our Father hears our prayers and will intervene in our situations and deliver our souls; however, there are certain storms that believers have to endure to attain greater faith and spiritual empowerment to be useful vessels for his glory; in those storms, believers can pray to rebuke the devil and for deliverance, but if those storms are in the will of our Father, he will listen to our prayers, but his will shall be done, therefore, if we are in storms of life today, and wondering why our prayers have not been answered yet; let us have greater faith in Jesus Christ, persevere, forbear and allow our Father's will to be done and be useful vessels to bring other souls to salvation, grace and life everlasting.

Lastly, Abraham answered Isaac; saying, "My son,  God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering,";  what a magnificent trust in our Father?;  listen carefully to his words: through faith in our Father, Abraham's positive utterances and actions of obedience, our Father also honored him by bringing his words to fruition, he provided the lamb for the burnt offering; not only that but Abraham became righteous and a friend of our Father;  also, at the beginning of Jesus Christ's ministry, when John the baptist saw him coming unto him, he said, "Behold the Land of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29; therefore, Jesus Christ was a predestined sacrificial lamb to be offered to reconcile humanity to our Father;  therefore, our lesson for today is to trust in Jesus Christ to the maximum degree, that regardless of what may bewailing our souls through difficult times, let us be certain that Jesus Christ is with us, and will work all things together for good, for those who trust in him; not only that, but while life tempests are waging with stronger waves and uncertainties, hands of Jesus Christ is paddling our souls to peaceful shores in his presence forevermore!

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved, through faith our Father created all things, through faith Abraham was righteous and became a friend of our Father, (James 2:23), and through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, he offered himself as a sacrificial lamb to be slaughtered, shed his blood, died on the cross to redeem humanity from past, present and future sins;  therefore, without faith it is impossible to please our Father; for our Father himself is faithful forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Isaiah 53:7;  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:  he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
