DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  COLOSSIANS 2:6-7

(6)  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
(7)  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

IN CHRIST ALONE!

 (6)  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  Brethren, as believers who have obtained the knowledge of truthfulness about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; (i)   let us to walk in his attributes; follow after his righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness. (1 Timothy 6:11);  (ii)  let  us dearly love one another, having compassion on others. (iii) let us show kindness, humbleness, gentleness and bear one another's burdens to fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2);  :(iv)  Let us understand one another, with acts of kindness, be affectionate, forgiving one another's faults as Christ forgave our sins. (Ephesians 4:32);  (v)  let us bear marks of salvation by our attitudes and behaviors, as believers called out of darkness into marvelous lights, to continue with his ministry, to bring souls along into the faith of his righteousness, salvation, grace and life everlasting.

(7)  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Brethren, let us study this context in segments;  (i)  Rooted and built up in him,  as believers, we are not of ourselves and cannot do things for our Father and Jesus Christ by our own self efforts, but our Father is our spiritual resource of power, energy, and sustenance of humanity saved or unsaved;  therefore, in other for us to be able to effectively do his will, we ought to know how to tap into his spirits, to receive gifts, talents, wisdom, knowledge and understandings, to effectively do our assigned duties and responsibilities for his glorification;  it is written; ...without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5);  (ii)  and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught;  we learn from the scriptures the gospel of Jesus Christ, that we were saved because of his sufferings, death and resurrection to pay for all our iniquities, and we do not have to work any harder to gain favors from our Father but only believe in Christ, enjoy grace freely and eternity; however, (i)  our Father greatly rewards his children who serve him diligently;  (ii)  he does not overlook their service to him, but proves them as highly favored servants by giving them earthly, heavenly blessings;  for it is written, he rewards them according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:15); (Rev. 20:12); though we were saved because of the blood of Jesus Christ, and will inherit eternity with him, Jesus will prove us worthy for crown of glories on day of judgment according to our works, (Rev. 20:13);  therefore, let us be proven today as faithful servants of his righteousness unto life everlasting:  (iii)  abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Let us always show appreciation to our maker, singing songs of praises, with thanksgiving and adoration in the beauty of his holiness, (1 Chronicles 16:29);  he thinks good thoughts about us, thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give us an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11);  Praise his Holy Name  Amen!

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved, in today's lesson we learn how important it is for believers to know who they are in Christ, walk in those statuses and be not afraid of intimidating enemy forces or allow ourselves to be victimized by our predators;  therefore, let us be encouraged to believe that Jesus Christ is our strong tower;  believers run into his arms and are safe; in him, there are no fears or worries; his grace is sufficient in our troubles, his strengths is made perfect in our weaknesses, (2 Cor. 12:9); therefore, let us be rooted, and build up in him, and stablished in the faith of his righteousness as we have learn from the scriptures forever and evermore.  Amen and amen!
