DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  1 JOHN 2:15-17

(15)  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
(16)  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
(17)  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

FUNCTIONALITY

Brethren, by the sufferings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, believers overcame the world of darkness, his victorious blood redemption eradicated our past, present and future sins, grant salvation, grace and eternal lives.

When Jesus died on the cross, he died for humanity, believers and unbelievers as well; in other to partake of his grace, one would have to receive him into their hearts as Lord and Savior, believe in him:  if such events took place in other to bridge the gape created through sinful behaviors of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, that humanity may once again have personal relationships with their maker; then, let us love our Father, not the things of this world;  as humans, we only have one heart, in this heart flows issues of life;  whenever, there are turbulences within our hearts, emotional states of minds affects our behaviors, the Holy Spirit cannot work within chaos environments; therefore, let us guard our hearts from sinful attributes, lusts of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life; for none of these attributes are in the righteousness of our Father;  if we focus on eternal things; we are not losers on earth, rather winners in all areas of our lives including eternity;  per Matthew 6:33: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;  and all these things shall be added unto you.";  if we desires things of this world, someday they will perish with the wind and our hearts are not completely with our Father;  for we cannot serve our Father and mammon at the same time: (Matthew 6:24); therefore, let us love our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior forevermore.

There are three major points in the above text as follows,:  (i)  First point;  lusts of the flesh:  what is the lust of the flesh?;  it is feelings of stronger desires, wanting or longing for something at times of sexual sinful natures;  there are so many things in this world which are detrimental to our souls, but the enemy uses to distract humanity from ways of righteousness into damnation;  therefore let us control our physical and emotional desires; but rather lust for the presence of the Holy Spirit, grieve him not by negative thoughts or sinful cravings, to yield to temptations and walk in ungodliness;  (ii) Second point;  lust of the eyes;  lookery!;  when our hearts are focus on physical appearances of men and objects, to desire and possess them; this is sinful:  in book of Matthew 5:28, Jesus said,  "But I say unto you,  That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.";  can you imagine how sinful we are in this world?;  no one is righteous, no not one!;  if we allow the Holy Spirit to indwell our hearts, there will no room for sinful desires;  it is perfectly alright to look and admire beautiful things of this world;  our observations becomes sinful, when our motives of looking, thinking and perspectives are negatively inclined,  therefore, let us be careful what we imagine in our hearts to lust with our eyes:  (iii) Third point:  pride of life:  we can be prideful of who we are in Jesus Christ, because he overcame the world on our behalves; however, as instruments of glory, though we are glorified, he glorifies himself through our mortal bodies in other to accomplish his purposes on earth;  therefore, let us resist prideful spirits; refer to Proverbs 16:18: let us know that we are not of ourselves, but the source of our spiritual embodiments is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; on the other hand, let us have spirits of boldness to preach truthfulness of the gospel to all nations of the world:  the devil is a liar!

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved,  when we were in the world of darkness, we participated in the sinful attributes of the world; now that we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, let us love our Father, resist works of darkness, temptations of materialistic world; rather focus our minds on eternity, knowingly or unknowingly, we are on spiritual journeys to worlds unknown, no one knows when, our journeys will come to an end on this earth, it could be any given moments of our lives; we are here today and gone the next day; this world is not our permanent abode, heaven is; therefore, let us come to Jesus Christ and have salvation and eternal lives.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Romans 12:2:  And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
