DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  JEREMIAH 10:23-24

(23)  O LORD,  I know that the way of man is not in himself:  it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
(24)  O LORD,  correct me, but with judgment;  not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

THE COUNSEL OF LORD SHALL STAND!

Brethren, in the above text, Prophet Jeremiah prayed on behalf of the chosen people of our Father, he warned them against the evil deeds of ungodliness but seek after righteousness; in his prayer, he also petitioned saying;  (i)  O LORD,  I know that the way of man is not in himself,  that is, though humanity think many thoughts all day and at all times; some of these thoughts are from good intents of our hearts, while some thoughts came from infiltration spirits and evil imaginations of the enemy; no matter what our thoughts processes and endeavors in this life maybe; eventually, the will of our Father will prevail against all our agendas; for, he is the one in control of our lives, and we are not of our own selves; therefore, regardless of what we do with our own human efforts, our Father will eventually bring our plans and self efforts to no fruition;  as a result, let us not make plans for the future, without praying to seek the will of our Father;  for it is written in the book of James 4:13, "Go to now, ye that say,  To day or to morrow we will go into such a city and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain, Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and the vanisheth away.";  brethren, we are not in control of our lives, but Jesus Christ does and no matter what our human agendas maybe in this life, his will shall be done in our lives whether we like it or not;  contrarily, when enemies plots, plans and schemes against souls, whether we are aware of their evil works or not; Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior foils their evil imaginations;  (ii)  it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps:  we all know that, all souls have their own callings and assignments implanted in their innermost spirits before birth;  whether souls come from the evil world of darkness, sent by their master the devil to cause commotions and havoc on this earth or are sent from heavenly places by Jesus Christ, and on missions for the glorification of our Father; let us know for sure that all souls are on assignments on this earth, Heaven or Hades is our permanent abode; on this aspect, let us know that we are not of ourselves on this planet earth, but Jesus Christ directs our ways into his will, if we accept him into our hearts as Lord and Savior; though we may think otherwise, as believers, let us not do things by using our own human efforts without seeking the will of our Father through Jesus Christ; when we go our own different ways, follow our own human agendas; Jesus Christ never leaves us alone, but with patience, he gives us many chances to turn around and come unto him, receive salvation, walk in his righteousness into life everlasting;  if we fail to surrender to him, at times, he will use force to bring humanity into proper alignments with his will according to what our assignments are on this earth; as believers, let us not strive with our maker, whereby he will have to use iron hands to bring us back into proper alignments with his will; for none of our self-efforts can lead us into the ways of righteousness except through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; for it is written in the book of John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him,  I am the way,  the truth,  and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father; but by me."; and the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. (Psalm 37:3).

Brethren, Prophet Jeremiah went on to plead with the LORD; saying,   O LORD,  correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing; in other words, Jeremiah prayed that instead of our Father's wrath of judgment upon him and his people, he should have mercy and hurry up to deliver them from their waywardness and not in his anger destroy their lives; awesome prayer!; as believers, at times we ought to intercede on behalf of others within or outside the faith; and regardless of what our disagreements maybe on this earth, let us accommodate one another, reconcile all differences, be in peace and harmonious with one another; for, we are all of the same Father and joint heirs with Jesus Christ in eternal kingdom forevermore.

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved, Prophets Jeremiah encourages believers to be aware that our ways are not really our own pathways, but our steps are ordered by our creator and Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; therefore, in all our undertakings, let us seek the will of our Father, allow the Holy Spirit to direct our pathways in his righteousness into life everlasting; Jeremiah also prayed for our Father's merciful kindness and ways of deliverance from ungodliness without condemnation;  today, Jesus Christ has taken care of all condemnations on the cross and by his death and resurrection, we are at liberty forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!
