DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  JOHN 20:21-23

(21)  Then said Jesus to them again,  Peace be unto you:  as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
(22)  And when he had said this,  he breathed on them, and saith unto them.  Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
(23)  Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are reatined.

EMPORWERMENT

Brethren, when Jesus rose again from the dead, the same day at evening, his disciples assembled in a room with doors shut closed, for fear of the Jews; Jesus came and stood among them and said; Peace be unto you!  Brethren,  (i)  the room doors were shut closed, but miraculously Jesus came, and stood among his disciples;  (ii)  though he rose again from the dead in his old mortal body, his body at that point was already transformed into an immortal body; in other to go through the room doors without anyone opening the doors to let him into the room;  (iii)  Jesus proved to his disciples that it was him who was crucified, not an evil ghost looking to deceive them, so he showed them his wounded hands and sides; immediately, his disciples sorrows turned into joy at his presence among them;  today, brethren, all our sorrows will turn to joy in Jesus Name.  Amen!

(21)  Then said Jesus to them again,  Peace be unto you:  as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.  Jesus said to his disciples, Peace dwell over your souls;  because the disciples were afraid that the Jews will trouble them, therefore, they shut themselves up in the room, Jesus came, stood among them; prayed for Peace of minds, souls, encourage and commissioned them to carry on with the ministry.

(22)  And when he had said this,  he breathed on them, and saith unto them.  Receive ye the Holy Ghost:  to do the will of the Father, we need spiritual anointing, empowerment, inspirations;  Jesus knew that his disciples will need help to continue with the ministry, therefore, he gave them power by breathing upon them anointing breath of resurrection;  Christ breath was not just inhale, exhale gases, his breath was gases of power, authority transferred from the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit which rose him up from the dead, from his immortal body unto his disciples to empower them for the ministry; therefore, he breathed upon them with authority, saying receive ye the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost manifested his powers among them; brethren, let us ask ourselves today;  have we receive the Holy Spirit yet?  if not, Jesus said; ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will surely find it; knock, and doors will open for you; (Matthew 7:7).  Jesus also promised the disciples during his ministry that when he departs from earth, the comforter, (Holy Spirit) will come to teach them all things; and it was so! (John 14:26).

(23)  Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are reatined.  Jesus said unto his disciples, whoever, regardless of races, genders, statuses; if you release their guilt and penalties of sins, they are released, and whoever sins you sustain will be sustained;  this is Empowerment!  As believers, of Jesus Christ, we have the same empowerment given to the disciples through resurrection power of the Holy Spirit; therefore, let us be careful of our utterances, words do manifest;  whatever comes out of our mouths, good or bad connotations, will manifest to that which we speak of; (i)  let us use our anointing powers to minister words of love, redemption, healing, victories, blessings, grace and life everlasting;  (ii)  let us refrain our tongues of authorities from speaking guile. (1 Peter 3:10); rather, encourage one another in the faith of the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;  (iii)  let us not use our mouth of authorities to gossip, slander, cause mischief or havoc among brethren; rather praise, encourage, pray for one another in the body of Christ;  (iv)  let us use our authorities to go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15).  This is the great commission!

CONCLUSION:

Dearly beloved, when we repent of all our transgressions, receive Jesus Christ into our hearts as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts to transform our lives into images of he who had called us from darkness into his marvelous lights, Christ our Lord and Savior; and we become sons, daughters of the Father, joint heirs with Christ in eternity;  today, let us come unto him, altar of grace, receive the Holy Spirit and empowerment, to minster the gospel of truth, to bring souls to repentance, salvation and life everlasting.  Amen and amen!
