DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  ST. LUKE 3:10-11

(10)  And the people asked him,  saying,  What shall we do then?
(11)  He answereth and saith unto them,  He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none;  and he that hath meat,  let him do likewise.

WHAT SHALL WE DO THEN?

Brethren, kindness goes long ways in the journey of life; it is an attribute of love;  therefore, if we love one another as brothers and sisters in this world,  there ought to be compassion for others, to go an extra mile, reach out and help others in needy situations, share blessings, with the poor, elderly widow/widowers, the homeless and the persecuted suffering people, to make someone's life comfortable with kindhearted gestures. for, those who pour water into other people dry wells, their wells will never run dry, but Jesus replenishes them, as they pour out, he pours back in with an abundance of earthly and eternal blessings.

Due to the fact that we live in a busy world, we are always in a rush to go somewhere;  at times, we see our own family members as statues moving around in the house, there are no physical or emotional connections, everyone lives in their own bubble shells with gadgets friendships;  in the mornings, we barely say hello to family members,  occasionally, we remember to hug, kiss, show love, say hellos, goodbyes and see you later to love ones, before we head out into the world full of challenges;  today, let us pay more attention to people than we normally would on daily basis, it is a small world, therefore, it pays to be friendly to people we come in contact with every day, for no one really knows tomorrow, we may need the help of the same people we have neglected in the past, failed to love and care for;  also, the summer holidays are here, winter is gone for a season, let us slow down our busy schedules, spend some quality time with family and friends, especially those of us with younger kids;  time and tides wait for no man;  also, allow adequate time either in the mornings, afternoons or evenings, pay special attentions to loved ones, co-workers, friends, say hellos to neighbors across the streets, as we tread through the journeys of life, show that we care about them.

CONCLUSION:

Dearly Beloved,  the people asked Jesus a question,  what shall we do then?  Jesus said, (i)  He that have two coats; let him impart to him that hath none; this answer sounds like closet cleaning time to me, if so, then, let's give away the extra clothing that we do not need, but still hanging in our closets, chances are someone needs them, for there is joy in giving than to receive cf. Acts 20:35;  (ii)  he said, and he that hath meat, let him do likewise:  therefore, let us endeavor to share our delicacies, barbecues with others, especially, the hungry homeless people sitting on street corners, make them happy:  the bottom line of this text is, to be generous, give out of love, share blessings with the needy;  for this world is our temporary abode, everything we owe right now is for temporary enjoyments, sooner or later, those things will not matter anymore on the journey to eternity;  on the contrary if we share our blessings with others, we find favors in the eyes of God, and there are multiple blessings for doing the will of Jesus Christ;  therefore, let us ask ourselves every morning, what can I do for someone today?  Jesus will tell you!   Peace be unto you!  Amen and Amen!

WORD OF WISDOM:

(KJV.)  Proverbs 10:12  Hatred stirreth up strifes:  but love covereth all sins.
