DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  ROMANS 13:11-14

(11)  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:  for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
(12)  The night is far spent, the day is at hand:  let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
(13)  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
(14)  But put ye on the Lord Je'sus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.


GOD OF SECOND CHANCES

Brethren,  we thank the Father of all creation, for giving us his grace to be able to enter the New Year successfully; it is not a privilege but unmerited favor, we have been given second chances by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to make all things right with ourselves to fully enjoy his grace;  let us double check ourselves to see where improvements are needed and work a little more closely to effect positive changes for better in year 2015; if we are alright in all areas of our lives, let us work towards helping others who are still striving to attain better understandings of their life purposes and encourage them with necessary amenities to attain better lives; this is the will of the Father of all creation.

Case in point, as the years roll by, let us beware of where we are going and pay more attentions to our life purposes to fulfill our destinys;  let us study the following verses carefully together,  (11)  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:  for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  That is, few hours ago, we were in year 2014, today we are already in a fresh New Year 2015; now we need to set up our priorities in order; for as the years rolls by, we are not getting any younger but older everyday and are getting closer to our destinations in life; no one knows how many days, months and years we have before we are called home to be with the Lord; therefore, let seek deliverance from power and effects of sins, but walk in godliness which is the road map of salvation and life everlasting;   (12)  The night is far spent, the day is at hand:  let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  That is, we have wasted enough of our years fooling around already, time is running out for us to seek after things that really matters in life; going forward, let us be serious about our faith in the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; let us get out of spells of evil works of the enemy, fleshly desires but walk more in godliness, enjoy grace freely and life everlasting.


WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Points to ponder,  let us analyse the following verse of today's text which entails four segments;  (13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. first segment is, (i)  let us walk honestly, as in the day.  that is, we are to live genuine lives, without cheating, lying or pretending to others what we are not but truthfully be our own selves;  (ii)  not in rioting and drunkenness,  that is, we are to live godly lives and resist disorderly behaviors or give ourselves to habitual excessive use of alcohol;  (iii)  not in chambering and wantonnes, that is, we are not to gang ourselves with works of darkness, showing no respect for right feelings and safety of others;  (iv)  not in strife and envying.  that is, we are to exercise self control over our emotions, without getting angry to portray violent behaviors or have thoughts and feelings of wanting to possess what belongs to others but does not belong to us; but feed our minds and spirits with the scriptures and Jesus will take absolute control of all negative aspects of our lives so we enjoy his blessings of peace forevermore.

Fruits of thoughts,  lastly, the following verse says,  (14)  But put ye on the Lord Je'sus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.  That is, we are to incorporate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into our daily appearances, thoughts and emotions, so we do not allow our souls to yield to dictates of infiltration spirits of the enemy to walk in ungodliness; rather, let us sing joyful songs in our hearts to the Father of all creation and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  and at all times, let us give him glory forevermore.


CONCLUSION:

Brethren, whether we like it or not, we are in a brand new year, a year we have not experience before; and regardless of the unknown aspects of this year, if we have Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior on our sides, we will make it through again to the years ahead of us; now that we have been given the grace to see the beginning of this wonderful year, let us get our priorities straighten and know Jesus like we have never known him before, and allow his glory to shine through our lives by loving and caring more about others;  let us pray for others who are blindfolded and have not yet seen the light but are still walking in darkness to have awakening spirits this year to enter into the last boat of salvation, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, in him is grace, peace and life everlasting.  Amen and Amen!
