DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  PHILIPPIANS 4:8

(8)  Finally,  brethren,  whatsoever things are true,  whatsoever things are honest,  whatsoever things are just,  whatsoever things are pure,  whatsoever things are lovely,  whatsoever things are of good report;  if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Brethren,  the above context summons it all, it is our road map to salvation, we can choose to follow them or go our own ways to destruction:  they are guidelines for us to think, and practice what is right both emotionally and physically; and master them as tools of righteousness and of salvation: regardless, let us beware of our adversary the devil;  he will attack our thought processes with lies and deceits, and will prove them with another lies and deceits, and to make them seem authentic to lure us to act on his evil suggestions;  therefore, when we are being provoked by our thoughts to make hasty decisions whether physically or emotionally;  let us pray first and think about our actions before we react negatively or positively so we do not fulfill the desires of our enemies.

let us ponder on these points from the above context:

(i)  whatever things are true;  meaning, we need to be truthful with our words and in all our ways;  for integrity goes a long way in this life;  and it is an attribute of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  because, he is the way, truth, and life, there is no other way to salvation:
(ii)  whatsoever things are honest;  meaning, we need to be good and truthful to ourselves, not lying, stealing and cheating, but with characteristics worthy of reverence to the Holy Spirit and to ourselves:
(iii)  whatsoever things are just;  meaning, we need to treat ourselves in a way that is morally right, and exercise justice, and an upright life in all our actions;  let us do to others as we wish others to do unto us:
(iv)  whatsoever things are pure;  meaning, we need to be free from all spiritual pollutants of the hearts, soul and bodies;  let us have clear conscience, forgive one another, love, care and live peaceable with all men:
(v)  whatsoever things are lovely;  meaning, we need to practice good behaviors that are pleasing in the eyes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, practices such as praying, loving, giving and caring for others in a gracefully way:
(vi)  whatsoever things are of good report;  meaning, we need to be godly in all our ways, whereby no evil works can truly be associated with our lives, but our attitudes should portray godliness as our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus:
(vii)  lastly, if there are any virtues of praiseworthiness in all these points,  brethren, let us pay attention to them, and put them into practice, and recommend them to others, through the Grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  1 Peter 1:22  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren,  see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
