(KJV.) ACTS 16:26-28
(26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and ever one"s bands were loosed.
(27) And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
(28) But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
FREEDOM AT LAST!
Brethren, when we follow and do the will of Jesus Christ, there no mountains of difficulties, valleys of despairs, shadows of death that we cannot overcome; for Jesus overcome the world of darkness with his light of the resurrection made believers overcomers by his death and resurrection as well, that we may exemplify ourselves in him, walk in his footsteps, do what he did while on earth; therefore, let us go into the world, teach the gospel, lead souls out of darkness into marvelous lights, heal the sick, the lame, the blind, seek justice for all and peace in the world of turmoil; all souls, who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, walk in his righteousness, are more than conquerors in the world of darkness, there are no devastating situations prevailing against their souls, that the blood of Jesus has not dealt with on the wooden cross to set them free from it all: therefore, let us trust in him, that it is already done, we are more than conquers in his Holy Name.
In the above text, Paul, and Silas during a prayer session healed a young girl possessed with a spirit of divination; which profited her masters a lot of fortune by foretelling the future; when her masters saw that the demons using her were gone, and there was no hope for them to make any more profits, they arrested Paul and Silas, brought them into the marketplace, before the court of law, accused them of making trouble in the city, after scrounging them with stripes, they put them into prison; brethren, it is not easy to do the will of Christ, but Jesus never leaves his disciples alone in trails; subsequently, at midnight, while Paul and Silas prayed, sang praises to our Father despite their trails; suddenly, there was a great earthquake, the foundation of the prison walls shook, immediately all the doors opened, and everyone's chains were loosed: what happened here, faith in action, as they prayed, sang songs of praises, deliverance came suddenly; therefore, no matter what our devasting situations maybe, if we pray, sing songs of praises, trust in our Father, through Jesus Christ, all things shall be well again; for there is nothing impossible with our Father, and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; today, let us go ahead, do his will, trust him; regardless of what maybe the challenges of this present times, Jesus is in control, all things will work together for good, by his grace.
When the dozing prison guard woke up from his sleep, realized that the prison doors were opened, he pulled out his sword to kill himself, thought that the prisoners had escaped, but Paul, cried out with a loud voice, harm not himself, for they were still in there: what a mighty work of the Holy Spirit!; first of all, Paul and Silas exercised enormous faith, prayed, sang praises to our Father while incarcerated, and suddenly, they were delivered; therefore, in all situations, let us pray, sing songs of praises, give thanks to our Father, receive his goodness and mercies: secondly, Paul and Silas exercised boldness, though their chains were loosed, they did not escape out of the prison walls, but waited, that the glory of Jesus Christ may shine out of their lives; for, after the prison guard called for light, and rush in, he came trembling, fell down before them, brought them outside, and asked what to do to be saved? you see! Paul and Silas did not value their own lives to quickly leave the prison walls, but they waited for the prison guard: inadvertently, Jesus used them to save the guard and his household: this is a lesson to all believers, that while we do the will of Jesus Christ, there are always obstacles to overcome, that will take enormous faith, to wither the storms, and boldness, to ascertain our faith in him, persevere to the end of our days on earth; what would you do, if we find ourselves in this type of predicament?, may be flee for our lives, once the chains were loosed; no one knows for sure what will be in difficult times; therefore, let us be readily prepared to face any challenges of our callings, never be weary in well-doing, throw in towels, and give up entirely; but persevere, forbear and longsuffering, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not. cf. Galatians 6:9. Amen and Amen!
