(KJV.) ISAIAH 7:14
(14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
CHEER UP! IT IS NOT OVER YET!
Brethren, many generations before Jesus Christ was born, the LORD sent Prophet Isaiah to King Ahaz, with a word, to strengthen, encourage him, not to be afraid of his enemies; hold right there! many times, as believers, when enemies rise up against us, whether spiritually or physically; let us not take matters into our own hands, to prove anything, fight against those who fight against us, but rather, pray fervently, called upon Jesus Christ to take absolute control of our predicaments, prevail against those enemies, sit back, relax and enjoy his victories.
Prophet Isaiah said to King Ahaz, "Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above." But King Ahaz replied, "I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD." what an unshakable faith! the King trusted in the LORD! Then the Lord said, "Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?" as humans, what we have to realized is, many times, when we have disagreements on worldly issues, we rebel to prove points, argue, debate among ourselves, strive against one another, using carnal minds to solve issues; however, there is another source, whereby we can resolve all matters of this world without obstructions, and that is to seek the counsels of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, through the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, to discern his thoughts on the issues we may be facing in life; not knowing the will of Jesus Christ, to walk in his righteousness, may be detrimental to our souls, for we strive against our maker to no advantages, weary our souls to death: in this case, King Ahaz believed that the LORD is able to fight his battles, deliver him from his enemies, therefore, he did not worry himself, to have any doubts to disbelieved the LORD; there are moments in our lives, whereby, we have to lay down our heavy loads, burden of our shoulders lay them upon Jesus Christ, trust him that he overcame the world by defeating the enemy of our souls, granted believers victory in him; therefore, we are more than conquerors in this world, rest assured in him forevermore.
Though King Ahaz did not challenge the LORD, to show him a sign; Prophet Isaiah said unto him, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."; you see! our Father is full of surprises; though the King did not ask him for a sign, he promised to give Israel one, the one that will end all their warfares and disagreements, turn their hearts unto him; therefore, he sent down Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior into the world, generations after, at the appropriate time to do his will, after his assignment on earth, he suffered, crucified to save the world of iniquities, resurrected again from the death by the Holy Spirit, ascended into heaven, and granted free grace to those who believe in him as Lord and Savior; as believers, there are moments in our lives, whereby, we pray for heart desires to our Father, wait for years, months, and weeks for answers, surprisingly, we receive divine interventions, our prayer petitions are granted by his grace; therefore, nothing is over until Jesus Christ says so, no matter what may be going on in our lives this advent month; let us not worry, but relax our muscles from anxieties, trust in him, that in him, all things are possible, cheer up, and enjoy the Holidays. Amen and Amen!
