ISAIAH 9:6-7
(6) For unto us, a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of the host will perform this.
THE PRINCE OF PEACE
Brethren, the savior of the world is born, his name is Jesus, who took away the sins of the world! Let us rejoice sing songs of praises to our Father; for his love, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. cf. John 3:16.
Generations before the birth of Jesus Christ, Prophet Isaiah, spoke about his birth in the above text, saying: For unto us, a child is born, unto us a son is given: the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Let us analyze the names given to him; (i) the government shall be upon his shoulder; we all know who that person will be, a President, King, Ruler, or someone in higher authority, to resolve issues pertaining to his/her jurisdiction; today, regardless of our predicaments, Jesus is the answer to all our troubles; for he is seated on the right side of our Father, advocating on behalf of those who call upon his name, and he rules the heavens and earth forevermore; therefore, if we have received his words, through visions, dreams or prophecies, let us know for sure that they will come to pass at appropriate times, let us have unwavering faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
(ii) and his name shall be called Wonderful; who is a wonderful person? a wonderful person is someone who has the capability to performs wonders, the following are few references of the wonders of Jesus Christ, he made water into wine, cf. John 2:1-11; rose up Lazarus from the dead, John 11:1-43; the Canaanite women's daughter was made whole by his words of mouth, Matthew 15:21-28, 30; the four thousand fed, 32-39; the devils cast out, the woman with the issue of blood healed, Jairus daughter healed as well, Mark chapter 5, etc.; therefore, there is no affliction that Jesus Christ cannot heal, for by his stripes we are healed, cf. 1 Peter 2:24.
(iii) Counsellor, a counselor is someone who ministers words of wisdom to others, is Jesus a counselor? Yes he is, when he was twelve years old, his parents took him to Jerusalem every year for the feast of Passover, at a time, when they had fulfilled the days of Passover at the temple, Jesus stayed behind, sat among the doctors, heard what they had to say, asked them questions, his gift of wisdom, counsel and ministry was revealed that year, though he was in his youthful years, cf. Luke 2:41-52; also, perceive how he counseled the multitudes on the mount, Matthew chapters 5 through 7, etc.; therefore, if we have any questions and concerns about our own lives, and life as an entity, Jesus is the answer, he is the source of life.
(iii) The mighty God, mighty God? Yes! He is mighty, has greater powers, name above all names, and at the mention of his name Jesus, the kingdom of darkness trembles before him; by his Holy Name, Peter and John healed the lame man, cf. Acts 3:1-10; Paul rebuked the spirit of divination out of a certain damsel, in the name of Jesus Christ, and he came out the same hour, cf. 16:18; though he was a deity, because of his humbleness, he became obedient to death on the cross; thereafter, our Father exalted him, gave him a name which is above every name, cf. Philippians 2:5-11; that is how mighty and powerful Jesus is; he said, I and my Father are one. cf. John 10:30; therefore, if we testify of the wonders of Jesus Christ, we glorify our Father as well, let us not to forget to testify about his miracles, signs, and wonders performed in our lives, believers are blessed forevermore.
(iv) The everlasting Father; Jesus lives forevermore! when he suffered, died on the cross to save the world from bondage of iniquities, on the third day, rose up from the death, grant salvation, free grace and life everlasting to those who believes in him as the Lord and Savior of the world; therefore, through him, though we sleep in death, yet we have eternal lives; for on the day of reconciliation, we will rise up again, to meet with him in the skies, and live with him forevermore: by his death for our redemption, and the resurrection of victory over death, Jesus gave us life forevermore, cf. John 17:2-3; therefore, he is the only way, the truth, and the life everlasting Father, no one comes to the Father but by him. cf. John14:6; therefore, if we have not yet accepted Jesus into our hearts as Lord and Savior, this is the time, to do so, before it is too late; for he is coming back again soon!
(v) The Prince of Peace: you see! Jesus is truly the Prince of Peace; how? when he died on the cross for our sins, buried in the tomb, he did not stay there, rather he went into the pits of hell, preached the words of our Father to the dead, set the captives in satanic bondage free, possessed the keys of hell from the Satan, cf. Rev. 1;18, on the third day, rose up again from the dead, on his way to eternity, grant peace to the world, cf. John 14:27, 16:33; therefore, Jesus completed his assignment successfully, now it is our time, to work his works, finished his course successfully, receive crowns of glories, reign with him for evermore.
Dearly beloved, whenever we face the challenges of life; let us call upon the name of Jesus, he is the answer to all our struggles, he will calm down troubled waters, he rebuked the wind, said unto the sea, Peace be still. cf. Mark 4;39; Jesus is the Prince of Peace; there is no mountain of difficulty, that is insurmountable through him; therefore, let us come unto him with all labors and heavy laden, receive peaceful rest in him; whether bond of free, he is for everyone, let us call upon him in persecutions, trail or tribulations, either in the dream of the night, or in physicalities, all we need to do to receive deliverances, is to call upon the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and it shall be well with our souls again; consequently, it does not matter to him, what we did wrong, or doing currently; if we can call upon his Holy Name Jesus, in trouble times, we are saved from all our predators.
In conclusion, Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it, with judgment and with justice, from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of the LORD of the host will perform this. So it is! Jesus lives forever and evermore! Amen and Amen!
