DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  ACTS 9:4-5

(4)  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him,  Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
(5)  And he said,  Who art thou, Lord?  And the Lord said,  I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:  it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

THE PRICKS!

Brethren, Saul, renamed Apostle Paul, was a persecutor, threatened and slaughtered Christians, at certain time, he gained the permission from the High Priest in Jerusalem to the Synagogues in Damascus to arrest believers, bring them into Jerusalem for persecution;  on his way to carry out his plans, unfortunately, Jesus arrested him, a light shone around him, he fell to the earth, a voice said unto him, "Saul Saul, why are you persecuting me?" cf. Acts 9:1;  the action of Jesus to stop Saul from accomplishing his agenda on believers, enlightens understandings that whatever goes on earth, day or night times, heaven perceives all things;  therefore, let us beware of how we treat people of diversities under the sun:  David the Psalmist wrote:  The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. cf. Psalm 34:15.

Saul said who art thou Lord?  ponder point;  How did Saul discern Jesus to call him Lord?  It was only by divine revelation;  Jesus said unto him;  I am Jesus whom thou persecuted:  it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. cf. 9:5;  at times, we use our imaginations to decipher the code of Jesus;  consequently, directly or indirectly we fight against our maker and our ourselves, but it is a difficult thing to fight against the intended purposes of God in human lives;  fact is, Saul wanted to eliminate the Christian believers of that time, surprisingly, Jesus transformed his life from Saul the terrorist to Apostle Paul the Preacher, encourager, the writer of many New Testament books; therefore, regardless of our past lives, whether an armed robber, a prostitute, a sorcerer etc.,  it is never too late for Jesus Christ to transformed lives into instruments of glory;  after he arrested Saul, he commanded him to go into the city, and he will receive instruction on what to do; cf. 9:6.

For three days, Saul became blind, ate no food nor drank water; (i)  Jesus instructed Ananias the Apostle, in a dream to go into the street named Straight, ask for Saul, pray for him. cf 9:12;  (ii) Jesus simultaneously appeared to Saul in a dream and instructed him that Apostle Ananias was coming over where he was to pray for him;  though Ananias resisted, because of fear for his life; he obeyed the words of Jesus Christ, went and prayed for him, Saul, received the Holy Ghost, not only that, but also the scales fell from his eyes, he saw, rose up, was baptized and he did the will of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

CONCLUSION:

Dearly, beloved, believers have nothing to fear, worry or have anxieties over;  for Jesus watches over their souls at all times, to keep them from the evil hands of enemies;  therefore, they are not alone in this world, but blessed and highly favored; be happy, rejoice and exceedingly glad, Jesus is in control of all things, repent, come unto him, have salvation, grace and eternal lives;  today, if anyone has an instruction from Jesus Christ, through dreams, visions, prophecies, to do his will; obey his voice, for there are reasons for every instruction received from divinity.  Jesus is waiting for you and me to answer his call, step up to the plate, do his will.  Peace be unto you!  Amen and Amen!
