(KJV.) ST JOHN 21:15
(15) So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
I LOVE YOU LORD!
Grace be unto you! the word Love is a verb which requires an action, whenever we express love to anyone, whether in person, on the phones, through text messages or handwritten expressions; if our love connotations are spiritual, truthful, and not just flattering words; there should be some sort of a feeling, emotional connection impacted upon the giver of love and the receiver's heart, at times, the impact of love lingers on the heart for few minutes, throughout the day, weeks, months and years.
Therefore, when we express love, let us bear the fruit of love as well; to express love without fruit-bearing, love becomes just an ordinary expression without the impact of sensitivity, emotions, but emptiness; case in point, after Jesus resurrected from the dead, he appeared to his disciples on three occasions; on his third appearance; Simon Peter was on a fishing expedition with some of the disciples; but throughout Jesus ministration, he prepared the disciple to take over the ministry to go into the world, spread the Kingdom words to all nations. cf. Matthew 28:19-20; when Jesus was no longer with them, guess what? Simon Peter desired to go back to his old profession as a fisherman, instead of spreading the gospel into the world; instructions were given to the disciples by Jesus Christ, the action was required from his disciples; as believers, what instructions have we received from Jesus Christ, but yet to obey? this is a point to ponder on!
A couple of points to take away, (i) as believers, let us always listen attentively to what the spirit is saying to us, not to yield to deceptions of the enemy, be careful not backslide into our old ways, for there are loopholes of enemy temptations everywhere in darkness of this world; (ii) if we are called into the vineyard of glory; let us focus on what really matters to Jesus, pay attention to his instructions, and do his will: in Simon Peter's case, Jesus showed up, after they dined with him, he asked Peter if he really loved him, which he answered, Yea, Lord!; Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs!". therefore, love requires an action; Peter loved Jesus but was not ready to do his will at that time; but, Jesus reminded Peter to show his love for him, by doing his will, feed the lambs, sheep, spread the gospel, instead of being on the boat fishing out for fishes.
Saints, let us, love one another; love is of God, and Jesus Christ, show love, not in words alone, but mean what we express with heartfelt impacts upon the hearts of souls; also, love is a chain reaction coming from above; therefore, let's get connected to the rivers of love flowing from the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, now, today and even forevermore! I love you! Peace be unto you! Amen and Amen!
