HOLY ORDERS!

Grace be unto you!

There are many bishops in the body of Christ;  however, what is the responsibility of a bishop?  Per Google dictionary definition, a bishop is a senior member of the Christian clergy, typically in charge of a diocese and empowered to confer holy orders.  Holy Orders?  Yes!  Thus, to confer sacred orders, a bishop then must be holy, blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach, the list goes on and on, read I Timothy 3:1-7, for the additional addendum.

Therefore, a man of God, you are in charge of churches, overseeing the affairs of congregations, watch your ways, be encouraged to walk in holiness, to administer in holiness, cf. Leviticus 20:7;  refrain yourself from sinful behaviors, walk in righteousness, exemplifying Christ, never be found among the heathen, doing what everyone is doing, at the nightclubs, beer bars, hanging out at the parking lots, street corners with prostitutes, with the ungodly association, women and buzz, wild parties, fast life; instead, wear your title with dignity and integrity, exemplifying Christ, shining as a light among the darkness.

What are the scriptures saying to the bishops?  Read the epistle of Paul to Titus 1:6-11;  Listen carefully to how the Holy Spirit elaborates on the issues;  a bishop must be blameless;  therefore, bishops, do your best to be a squeaky clean pastors for Christ's sake; when matters arise in your assemblies, handle the issues wisely, without doing eyeservice or favoritism, instead incorporate the biblical point of views to settle the problems;  never formulate claim documents to embezzle money from your church, cf. Proverbs 15:3; though you are a dedicated servant of Jesus Christ, oversee the affairs of your household as well, spend time with your family, train your children with respectful traits and in righteousness, knowing fully, that, Jesus Christ, is with you till the end of your days.

Let us love and care for one another;  if you are a member of a church, whose pastor is a bishop, who is a disgrace to grace, bearing fruit of ungodliness, sleeping with women though he claims to be happily married; be bold enough to step up, privately have a one on one conversation with him, point out his shortcomings to him; for what happens to a bishop, affects the image of his church; one rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel of apples, it is better for him to listen to your counsels, amend his ways, than to fall into condemnation;  also, make it a point to intercede for the pastors on a daily basis, for, they need your prayers to lead the flock aright.

Saints, we have come a long way in Christendom, a new era is here, there is a stirring up going on in the body of Christ, the deeds of evil are unveiled in churches all over the world, so that the perfect will of Christ can take preeminence over evil works of darkness;  if you are involved in the actions of waywardness, amend your ways, for judgment starts at the altar of God, repent from your works, going forward, take your steps in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, for your doings are under scrutiny, and the verdict is at the door.  Be Holy, to confer the Holy Orders!  Amen and Amen!
