DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  ZACHARIAH 9:9-10

(9)  Rejoice greatly,  O  daughter of Zi'on;  shout,  O daughter of Je-ru'salem:  behold, thy King cometh unto thee:  he is just, and having salvation;  lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
(10) And I will cut off the chariot from E'phra-im, and the horse from Je-ru'sa-lem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen:  and his dominion shall be from sea even to the ends of the earth.

BEHOLD, THY KING COMETH UNTO THEE!

Brethren, we are in the advent season, what are our preparations as believers to welcome our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into this world, as King of Kings and Lord of all Lords?

Case in point, in the above text, Zachariah prophesied to Zion regarding their coming King; he spoke of a vision given to him by the spirit of the LORD of hosts, he was given the grace to reveal the most important good news about the messiah's birth, his righteousness, and would be savior of the whole world;  let us study the following text together;  (9)   Rejoice greatly,  O  daughter of Zi'on;  shout,  O daughter of Je-ru'salem:  behold, thy King cometh unto thee:  he is just, and having salvation;  lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.  Believers of this generation are descendants of Abraham Father of all nations, therefore, we are also parts of Zion and Jerusalem Zachariah is prophesying to; also in this text the word daughter was used to signify breeders of humanity, not necessary genders;  (i)  we are to shout joyfully; for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is coming unto us in few days;  (ii)  he is reasonable and righteous, to save us from all iniquities and evils of this world of darkness;  (iii)  though he was of a Kingship, the night when he was born, his mother Mary rode on an ass with him still in her stomach to Bethlehem where he was born in a manger, among filthiness of an animal barn;  (iv)  at the end of his ministry on planet earth, he rode again upon a colt, the foal of an ass into Jerusalem to face persecution, death and resurrection to save the entire world from the hands of the adversary back into the Father of all creation forevermore.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Points to ponder, (10)  And I will cut off the chariot from E'phra-im, and the horse from Je-ru'sa-lem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen:  and his dominion shall be from sea even to the ends of the earth.  The above verse elaborates on duties of the would be savior of the world;  when he comes, he will put a stop to all warfare between nations, kindred and will minister words of wisdom from the Father unto his children to take away strange practices and customs of humanity and grant them peace everlasting; his sovereignty will spread from oceans to the entire planet earth forevermore.

Fruits of thought,  dearly beloved, the above prophesy of the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was fulfilled generations ago; however, every year Christian believers all over the world commemorate events surrounding his coming to save the world from the hands of the adversary; let us beware that heavens do rejoice with believers on the same night of commemorating his birth on planet earth; they also commemorate events before his death such as partaking of the Holy Communion, an important covenant for Christian believers.

CONCLUSION:

Brethren,  though Jesus was a deity, as a sign of humility rode on an ass and was born in a manger when coming into this sinful world; again, he rode on a colt of ass when his mission was over on planet earth and was going to face his death and resurrection to save humanity from bondage of sins unto life everlasting;  today, as believers, what are our preparations to receive him into our hearts once again as lord and savior?  he is waiting at doors of our hearts to come in, and give us blessings of salvation, grace, peace, joy and life everlasting.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.)  Malachi 3:1  Behold,  I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
