DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.)  HEBREWS 4:8-11

(8)  For if Jesus had given them rest,  then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
(9)  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
(10) For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works,  as God did from his.
(11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest,  lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Brethren, when we receive rests from all our labors and reproaches of men;  then we ought not to worry or fear anything any longer, for we are free by the blood redemption of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever:  and are no longer in bondage of  iniquities, but born again by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit;  therefore,  we have peace in Jesus!  free of worries and condemnations; now, let us enjoy this grace, and trust in him with all our hearts, soul and bodies;  if we are in his rest,  we do not need to work any harder to prove ourselves to him in the faith or earn salvation or favors, but joyfully worship and serve him forever.

Case in point,  it is good for us to work hard to maintain our statuses or positions, bring home pay checks, and keep up with the norms of this generation;  sometimes we stress ourselves to a point of no enjoyments of the fruits of our labors;  e.g. (i)  we wake up in the morning still tired, our eyes could barely open up, but we hurry down to get ready for work;  (ii)  sometimes we forget to say good morning or goodbye to family and off we drive away for work;  (iii)  when we safely get to our destinations, and on our way to offices or work environments, we could barely notice coworkers on the same elevators with us or greet them;  (iv)  when we sit down or stand up side by side to do our daily responsibilities, we tend not to acknowledge our peers or care about them;  (v)  we may smile to others we come in contact with during the day, but our thoughts and hearts are far from our facial expressions;  (vi)  during lunch breaks, we hurriedly eat our foods because we worry over our goals and forget to enjoy our meals;  (vii)  we compete with others to gain recognition that we forget about who we destroy through the process;  beware,  for at the end of it all, we lose our youthful years in hasty, our kids grow up and leave, and we finally retire but end up alone in an empty nest, the kids are grown and move on with their own lives forever:  beloved, we have to work for a living;  for the scripture says;  in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, (Gen. 3:19);  however,  let us believe in the finish works of Jesus Christ, and take time to rest from our labors and enjoy life.

Brethren, the LORD of hosts, rested on the seventh day after his works of creation:  as faithful believers, let us therefore take heed to adjust our work schedules and social behaviors, and rest our bodies after long and stressful work days, and honor the concept of the Sabbath;  for, it is healthy for us also to take rests from our labors;  when we rest, our bodies regenerates newer cells, and regains its original strengths, our spirits are refresh and we live longer lives.

Brethren,  today, let us enter into the rest of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior;  for he says, come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28);  Jesus has the authority to call his people from all walks of life unto himself, he does not call the wealthy or over achievers, he calls the poor and needy, the sorrowful hearts, souls overwhelmed with bondage and afflictions to his arms of peace and joy forever;  let us acknowledge him as our Lord and Savior; pray everyday for victories and protections for all nations, and thank him for his love and grace that endures forever and evermore.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(KJV.) Deuteronomy 28:8  The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto;  and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
