DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV.) 1 CHRONICLES 4:9-10

(9)  And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren:  and his mother called his name Jabez,  saying,  Because I bare him with sorrow.
(10)  And Jabez called on the God of Israel,  saying,  Oh  that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,  that it may not grieve me!  And God granted him that which he requested.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Brethren,  as believers, let us be careful what types of names we give to our children at birth;  for names could impact lives both positively or negatively:  let us pray to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for appropriate names, and not just use circumstances surrounding our lives or names of favorable people to confuse their future lives;  for names do impact lives unto godly or ungodliness; for we are what we perceive in life.

Case in point;  Jabez's mother named him per circumstances surrounding his birth, to remind herself of sorrow encountered through his birth, and, also to appreciate the LORD, for saving her soul from perishing through her anguish and pains during her travail:  however,  it was a negative stigma on Jabez's perspective, and he refused to allow circumstances surrounding his birth to oppress or overwhelmed his life forever;  therefore,  (a)  he prayed to the LORD, to bless him abundantly;  (b)  and to extend his limits beyond measure;  (c)  and to allow his Grace and  favor to be upon his life;  (d)  and to protect him from all injury, grief, warfare and persecutions;  (e)  and, that his name should not cause him sorrow and sufferings for the rest of his life;  and the LORD, had mercy on him and answered his prayers.

Brethren,  we might say what is the point?  the point is, birth names do shape our futures lives;  (i) the LORD of hosts changed Abram's name to Abraham, and blessed and called him Father of Nations, (Gen. 17:5);   (ii)  and changed Sar-a-i Abraham's wife's name to Sarah and blessed her with fruit of the womb, (Gen. 17:15);   (iii)  he, also changed Jacob's name to Israel, and blessed him, (Gen. 32:28);  (iv)  Jesus, our Lord and Savior changed Simon, the son of Jonas's name to Cephas (a stone) to make him a stronger person, (John 1:42); etc....

Brethren,  what types of  names are we bearing today?  are our names hindering us from receiving blessings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?  let us double check the meanings of the names we bear today;  it might be too late for us to change names, but blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, washes away all negative sigmas associated with our names, and with him there is no sorrow or pains;  for we are redeemed by his blood forever;  however, let us not make the same mistakes by naming our children ungodly names but pray about all things;  for the names we bear down here on earth are names associated with our records in heavenly places?  however, it not too late to change things around by accepting Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior, and be baptized in the faith, and receive newer names of blessings, goodness and mercies forever and evermore
Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
