DAILY BREAD OF LIFE

(KJV) JAMES 3:5-13

(5)  Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
(6)  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity:  so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature;  and it is set on fire of hell.
(7)  For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
(8)  But the tongue can no man tame;  it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
(9)  Therewith bless we God, even the Father;  and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
(10)  Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.  My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
(11)  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
(12)  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries?  either a vine, figs?  so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
(13)  Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?  let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

WORDS OF INSPIRATION:

Brethren, the tongue is powerful than a sharp sword and very unruly:  why is this so?  spoken words from the tongue can build up or break down humanity depending on what we say:  God the Father with his tongue spoke everything into existence;  he made us in his likeness, and gave us the same authority to speak good or bad things into our lives;  therefore, let us choose spoken words gracefully and with wisdom;  tame our tongues for good utterances and avoid speaking things that are evil;  for evil speaking, is sin and of the enemy:  brethren, let us refrain from corrupt communications, and embrace each other's shortcomings with love and respect:  when we reprove, let us do so with wisdom and encouragement through the Love of Christ, who died for all our sins on the Cross of Calvary, forever more.  Amen and Amen!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

(Psalm 34:13)  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

1 comment:

  1. Brethren, let us uplift our children with words of encouragement and refrain from insulting them with words that might damage their self image in life. Let us use spoken words wisely, to build up the kingdom of Christ and break down the kingdom of Satan. Amen and Amen!
